Making Halloween

I wish every month was October. Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin dip, Frankenberry cereal, hand knitted sock weather, pumpkin spice Lattes, pumpkin spice lattes, and pumpkin spice lattes. And also, Halloween. Halloween movies, Halloween decorations, Halloween costumes. Oh yeah, and pumpkin spice lattes.

This month I have taken every chance I could to craft fun Halloween-y things.
I am particularly proud of how the mantle display came out this year. I was going for simple but stately.

The month started with cute door wreaths for our front door and my big daughter’s dorm room door. The idea for these came from my friend Jill at BabyRabies

Who knew tulle was for more then just tutus?

I made a bunting for my classroom bulletin board and of course a googley eye’d frame:

I knitted a little bat and some pumpkins:

I spent time in the kitchen as well:

Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix

Coconut Cupcakes with Bailey’s Frosting

Mummy pizzas

We decorated the front yard and house windows:

I obviously need to snap some better shots here.

I’ve also sewn some little pumpkins for the kid’s school Fall Festival, that are waiting for stuffing. My work in progress is this cute skelly made from felt. I guess he’ll be a little doll, or maybe a pillow.

aaaand finally, today I completed our Halloween costumes…

I still have a few more things in my brain aching to come out. I need this kind of creative outlet this time of year.
