a day in the life
Ever want to know what I do all day? I didn’t think so either, but too bad.
Take a photo journey into a day in our life.
7:45am

We have been up almost an hour, but it took me that long to focus. It is Saturday little ones. S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. As in NOT a school day. We are on summer break, but still, Sat-UR-Day.
10am

Second breakfastses. Not really. The teenager has an uncanny way of knowing exactly when I’ve made a nice breakfast, we’ve all eaten and the kitchen is all cleaned up. THEN she gets out of bed.
11am

School shoe shopping. “I can do it by self!” Translation: it takes us 2 hours to fit shoes. Look at those sweeet chucks! I’m so proud of that girl. I swear I had no influence on these, she picked them herself.
12pm

This picture could fit for about 22/7ths hours in my day.
1pm

Lunch. With Daddy. At work. Did I mention it’s SATURDAY?!?!
2pm

“I want to be in more pictures, but ya know, I gotta go, cuz, things to do, people to see. Later Mom.”

Actual 2pm photo. I love that my family reads. Pay no attention to the doggie behind the Kindle, “You can’t see me.”
3pm

“Just one more treat, pleeeeeease? We sit pretty for you mama.”
4pm

This is really an ice cream shop photo. Yummy afternoon treat for a hot summer day.

5pm

Luna Kitty does not Skype with Gram.
6pm

There were already so many eating/food pictures, so I’d snaped a kitty picture instead of dinner time. Skyla likes to play with the kids toys when they aren’t looking.
7pm

This is what happens when you hand the camera your husband and say, “Snap some photos for the 7 o’clock picture.”

I love our family walks. Probably a lot more then our neighbors do. Look out, Here come the Bushes!
8pm

Nighty Nite. Dream of bedbugs tonight.
9pm

Ahhhhhh! Hear that? Me neither. Silence is golden.
10pm

The part of the day I dream about 30 seconds after I wake up.
11pm

Hubby is learning to knit socks. This is his second one. He’s on the home stretch now.
This blog post was inspired by Jill at Baby Rabies. And by my want to be a better photographer. If you are interested in capturing your own ordinary day, check out her helpful suggestions. I used my dear friend’s Canon / EOS REBEL T1i camera and my own Canon 28-80mm lens.

I’ve been reading your blog for months….and I still can’t believe that you guys have a kid in college. I guess geek life keeps you young!
Hi mommacat
I love this idea of a photoblog 24 hrs. And your comment about the moment you dream about 30 secs after you wake up really made me smile. I know the feeling!!
Glad I keep wandering over here for a peek.
Keep well.
