Actually, its about friends AND knitting.

I had such a fun time doing Ravnerdwars third challenge for this month. The challenge was to go “yarnstorming“. Basically graffiti but with yarn. Its a neat idea and I am so glad it was a challenge this month.

I thought that in order to make a statement I’d never be able to achieve this alone. I am fortunate to have a knitting friend and fellow Team Browncoat team mate here in town. We talked about how it would be fun to do something together for a bigger statement. She found some great charts for some Chinese characters that say Serenity and Firefly and the Browncoat Independents emblem and thought it’d be fun to make our fearless town mascots in to Browncoats. (I have to give LaLa credit it was her idea).

So, we knitted our parts individually and then picked a time to “plant” our yarnbombs. With our little nerdlets in tow we ventured out and got some great shots (did I mention my Friend LaLa is a great photographer as well). Then we treated the kids and ourselves to some ice cream.

What a great thing to have friends with same interests. It was really a fun time. My littles had a lot of fun too. And they made a new friend as well.
