Birthday Shawl for Omi
My husband’s grandmother is turning 90 in May! She is a remarkable woman. She has lived an amazing life. Omi wants to have a big ‘ole shindig to celebrate, and that’s just what we are going to do for her. Its going to be the party of the year. Really it is. Its not every day someone turns 90!
To honor Omi, and show her just how much she means to us, I wanted to make her something very special. With the help of my yarny friends, we decided on this shawl (no, I do not read German, or whatever, I found the English pattern). Ravlers click here.

I was worried I wouldn’t get it done in time, but low and behold after 2 weeks I am 61% done! I am 99.9999% positive I will finish it in time for the party in May.
The yarn I choose is scrumptious! It is the softest blend of baby alpaca, angora and wool.

I hope she likes it!
PS I’ll edit with finished pictures when I’m done!
ETA:
I’ve been done for a while. Omi’s Shawl is lovely and I can’t wait to see her open it. We are all getting excited about the upcoming party in a few weeks. I will post yet again once she has the shawl and possibly even a modeled shot.
